5 new songs tonight !!

Due to work etc we have had very little rehearsal time recently but yesterday we had several hours together and semi nailed 5 new songs that we are going to play at tonight's gig !!

It's always nice to put new material in but 5 in one go is a bit scary

They are as follows

Whitsnake, Here I Go Again

Divynals, I Touch Myself ( looking forward to our sexy singer doing this )

Beverley Knight, Take a Piece of my Heart ( rocked up )

Hole, Celebrity Skin

Wheatus, Teenage Dirtbag

Putting 5 new songs in at the same gig is brave stuff. I'm never sure whether I prefer to put new stuff into the first set to get it out of the way while band members are all still fresh or leave it to the second set when maybe any mistakes will be overlooked when the punters have had more to drink. At the end of the day, our new numbers usually go in where they best fit rather than the above consideration however I hope it goes well for you whatever order you tackle them in.

Hope all went well

The scariest gig I did was agreeing to stand in for MetalWorks bassist (also happens to be Zodiac Mindwarp's plank spanker) before realising I'd have to learn 25-30 tracks...................... in the space of 3.5 days (mainly evenings as I have a day job).

Thankfully it was all classic rock/metal with a huge slab of AC/DC.

The Black Sabbath/Ozzy and Iron Maiden sets were my fave

We do I Touch Mesen and Take Another Little Piece - we do a sort of cross between the Janis Joplin and the Beverly Knight versions

Yeah, we used to do the DiVinyls one when we had a girly singer. I used to enjoy playing it.
Actually, we're looking at working up four, possibly five new ones for our next gig in December. Mind you, it all hinges on everybody getting their finger out and learning their bits-have to say I am not optimistic.
