René_Julien Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Hello to all. Belgian bassist here. I'm a regular at TalkBass. In fact through TalkBass I discovered this forum. I noticed several members and friends of me there are on here as well. About me as a bassist: I love playing fretless, play it almost exlusively. I've got a wonderful Fender Tony Franklin fretless precision bass and a Roscoe Century Signatury 4-string fretless. (And a Gadow fretless 4-string J/MM on the way.) I have a love/hate relationship with effects. My collection is expanding... but I don't use much. Mostly delay and volume pedal. And I'm turning into a Electro Harmonix fanboy. Ampwise: I'm running a Gallien Krueger 1001RB-II into a Hartke 410XL, with a TL Audio 5051 Mono Valve Processor (tube compressor + equalizer). I'm much into metal, mostly progressive, progressive rock, classic rock, classical. I'm thinking of a new Hartke rig, LH1000 + HyDrive 410... or maybe going the Barefaced route. That's a big reason why I join this forum, for the Bareface forum. But I'll take the grand tour of everything. Quote
Beedster Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 The more fretless Precision players here the better Welcome Rene. By the way, are you anywhere near Liege? Chris Quote

Chris[/quote] I live about 50km above Liège. And that would be Luik for me since I am flemish, I live in the dutch-speaking part of Belgium. Yes, I fell in love with fretless precision basses about a year ago. I've been playing for 10 years now, last 9 years mostly fretless. I had quite a few fretlesses, and tried out many. I tried the Tony Franklin out... a bass that I would have never considered based on looks and specs... but when I tried it out... Best fretless I ever played. Well for me this one is the best. It just feels soooo right. I'm on the lookout for a vintage Fender fretless precision. Edited November 27, 2009 by René_Julien Quote
