The Funk
Shame, your band sounded good
Thanks! They're a great bunch of guys. We might get back out there in the new year but probably putting on our own gigs as opposed to the crap places we used to play. Even the good places are a little crap when you're at the mercy of a jaded soundman and a penniless promoter.
Jase
I know this may be a little sexist but it's from experience but I realised last night that every female sound engineer I have have worked with has been brilliant, they always seem to care about your sound instead of just getting the job done. The lady last night was called in last minute, she hadn't been to the venue in a year and was in bed with a fever when she got the call but still did a fantastic job and I can't help but feel that if it was a man that wouldn't have happened.
Women have stereo brains....it's how they multi task. Basska
Strangely enough, I have never ever ever came accross a woman sound engineer in the whole entirety of my musical career! but, saying that... We've been without a sound engineer a few times and used my mom to do the sound and its turned out great! We just tell her what does what and what not to do and she does a magic job i'll keep my eye open and post again if i come accross any female sound people! NickH
Enough about female sound engineers, what about female drummers? I've played with a lot of drummers in my time, the huge majority of whom have been blokes, but 3 of the top 5 best ones were women. What's up with that?
