billy pilgrim
hi i'm trying to work out what strings horace panter from the specials is using these days.i believe he used flats(probably rotosound)in the early days, but for the current tour he's using strings with light/medium blue silk at both ends.they dont appear to be chromes(silk is lighter than chromes).do rotosound do any flats with blue silk?also,if he's using rounds, does anyone have a photo of the silk on swing bass nickel, which i believe is blue.alternatively, which other brands might they be?i'm just forming a ska band, and i like the sound he has on some live recordings i have(wish i had his gibson thunderbird, that would help!)any suggestions greatly appreciated thanks billy pilgrim

DoctorEEEvil
These strings sounded great. They came on a used bass I purchased, BUT ... I cannot find out what brand they are. Any help out there? The windings alternate blue and silver. CLICK the PIC and have a look! Edited November 30, 2009 by DoctorEEEvil
Huge Hands
I don't know if it helps, but a few years ago I used to use Ashdown roundwound strings which had that colour silks (see my avatar). A lot of people on here said they were cheap s**t, but I liked them. They stopped making them, but someone hinted to me they were made for them by Rotosound, even though Ashdown claimed they had made them themselves it when I once asked them where I could get some more.
