Rogueporn
Hopefully someone could shed some light, recently brought a wizard thumper for my MIJ 62 reissue Precision, however the size wizards was slightly longer along the top, and the radius of the mounting points was bigger. I'm going to get a new pickguard and want to be sure its the original fender pickups that were small as apposed to the thumper being larger then a standard pickup. Telebass
I wouldn't think the Wizards will be other than original spec, but if they don't fit, call him - he's a reasonable guy. However, if the new guard is not up to spec, it may itself cause the problem you fear. Is the new guard a Fender part?
Rogueporn
Prehaps I should explain better, I got the wizard a few months ago, and fitted it, but alot of filing was required and even now the pickup is a very tight fit. The pickguard was the original, but I'm going to replace it, and ideally I dont want to to filing it again. I measured the original pickup and its about 1 mm narrower then the wizard, I've also measured a seymour duncan pickup and it nearly matches the wizard. So looks like the original fender pickup was smaller.
