Clarky Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Just bought this beauty from BC'er Chris Kelly. Its a lovely light and very resonant 1972 P-bass, strung with well worn-in LaBella flats, and I am a happy dude. I have long coveted a vintage P bass in suburst/tort/rosewood and now I have it PS, pics courtesy of Chris Quote

Sibob Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Very nice! That red is still very very prominent isn't it. From what I gather, it's the first part of the 'burst' to fade!? So it's been kept out of the sun for all those years haha Si Quote

Musicman20 Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Good find Clarky. I'm glad you found 'the one'. Quote
Beedster Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 MAKE SURE YOU GROWN OLD WITH THAT ONE MATE (and yes, the caps were deliberate) Seriously dude, you can't beat an old Precision and the more you get to know it the better it'll feel and sound. Well done on doing the right thing at last Quote
Clarky Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 Hey Chris, I am planning on this being THE ONE! So when 75 year-old Clarky plays geriatric punk, this will be strapped around his neck Quote

Cat Burrito Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Looks great - big, big fan of the 70s P bass too. That one is actually born the year before me! Quote
Old Horse Murphy Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Nice one Clarky. Glad you finally got her Quote
Noisyjon Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Hey Clarky, Nice one on this bass and I wish the 2 of you well in your relationship! ATB, Jon Quote
Legion Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Very nice, I'm still in search of the same thing really - its just that getting to try before you buy is pretty awkward and I'm damned if I'll buy blind anymore. Don't sell it... But if you do (PM me!) Quote

EssentialTension Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Well done Clarky. I must get one of those myself. Quote
Stag Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Exactly the thing I was looking for before buying my 2009 P ( http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=68439 ) . Lovely lovely bass indeed in a classic colour scheme, great buy! Quote

alanbass1 Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Nice one Clarky - I've fancied a '72 P Bass for a long time. The '72's have a great reputation. Quote
