iamapirate Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) hi all, I've searched around a bit, but the topics I came up with were for the £30-£60 range and the £300-£500 range, and I've heard a few things around on this topic, but can't really find much of it again. I've basically got some pretty nice sony MX-300s which sound good, but one of them is starting to die on me and it's panning and they're not amazing quality. So I was looking for a pair of in-ear headphones that i can use for general iPod usage, but still use for IEM if the need takes me there (at my church they have the capability for wireless IEM, but only occasionally use it - they're starting to trend towards it and my headphones won't be up to scratch). So christmas is coming up and I've got a budget of about £100-£120 (so the cheapest possible, really!) and I know you can get good deals around the internet. So, any recommendations? I know ultimate ears do a cheap(ish) set for about £150, but I don't really wanna pay for the brand name. And I've tried the bose in-ears and they're horribly bassy for my tastes. - may have been the buds I used them with. oh yah, and by 'studio-type' I mean that it doesn't colour the sound really at all, as I really don't like hifi sound (my dad has a really nice one, and I'd much rather use my £100 samson studio monitors than it as I love the clarity) Edited November 29, 2009 by iamapirate Quote

iamapirate Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) o.O very nice! What about sony or sennheiser? Or the IE 7 http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronic...86|cat:Portable or maybe even the IE8 Edited November 29, 2009 by iamapirate Quote
NickThomas Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I have to say I find it hugely amusing that a church has iem , but I dont know why. It's a fantastic idea, especially considering the amount of deaf old people down this way lol Quote
iamapirate Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) haha, well it's not really the usual. Hence the bass playing and such. Not gospel, but we have a full band up there. Top notch, world class musicians as well, it's crazy! http://kingschurch.eu/ Wjhereabouts from the sunshine coast are you from? same as me, then? plus, like, 80% of the people there are under 50 Edited November 29, 2009 by iamapirate Quote
crez5150 Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I've just switched to the Sennheiser IE8 which are outstanding..... they really retain the body of signal as opposed to a lot of IEM buds that are not very forgiving. Quote

iamapirate Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 ok, well the IE8 is on the christmas list - I've managed to find a pair from a retailer for £140 - bargain! Hopefully they will meet my needs. But apparently I bought well when I got my MDR EX300 according to internet reviews. hmm! Quote
