Thoughts and opinions on pickguards for a walnut jazz?

Im thinking about either see through or anodized gold?
What are your thoughts, any pics to share?

I think gold would be overpowering, I say no guard or see through.

I reckon the gold would look a wee bit weird.

Would love a walnut jazz actually. What year/edition is it?

It's the cij jb-62 wal but just the body off reliable fender going for a black n gold/brass thang. The neck will be a squier for now till I can afford a nice one. (or till I've paniced and flogged it to get cash back )
having looked at the pics it looks like it has an internal bridge earth route unlike most 62ri's

If the grain of the wood is pretty visual and attractive, then a clear plate, for me.

If not, then probably black.

I love my natural finish walnut Status with black hardware. It's a gorgeoud wood, so unless you got a nasty bit I'd say show as much as possible with a see-thru guard or none at all.

Exactly... although it'll look nice without a pickguard I'm sure. I removed the p\g off of my '62 Jazz (brown tort!) and now it wont fit back on!
I know with some jazzers there's a routing channel that makes this not an option.

It's just the eBay pics of the body at the mo, I'll stick em up when I get home from work. Whatever I pick is gona have to wait anyway cause I'm skint so it's gonna be guardless for a while anyway just hope it all fits together ok!

Lovely looking bass body, that one - I'd definitely go for the transparent guard. You'll see more of that lovely walnut grain...

The screw holes are really obvious, so it's going to need something in there. +1 to transparent guard definitely.
