Thoughts and opinions on pickguards for a walnut jazz?

Will do the problem I may encounter is not having the original guard as a template for getting a see through one made but I'll cross that bridge when it comes

err...wasn't my idea of walnut. I'd have laquered that natural and then gone with a clear plate.... or a black plate would have worked, but it will be too dark now, IMO.

It's not walnut... it's a dark brown stain.

Yeah it's not actual walnut. I think it's just called the walnut jazz cause of the colour. Its real name is the fender Jb-62 WAL. I think the body is ash dunno if there's a walnut top n back or not going for a slightly victor bailey vibe. My fave bass is my 1990 mij 62ri in basswood or ash with sonic blue so this is a change of flavour.
