Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'm afraid I can't see the point.

Paul Cooke
because you can... yes, but there are practical limits to the length of the USB cable you can use... voltage drops becomes quite significant and you would not have enough voltage to drive the interface if you tried to use sensible lengths of USB cable on stage. It's all very well noodling in the bedroom with just a 1.5 meter USB cable, but you'll need at least 3 meters onstage... and do you really want a laptop onstage and all the associated latency problems in the signal chain? Not to mention having to mess around with a mouse to switch the different VST effects in and out?
ped
I think it is really meant for home studio use rather than actual on stage gigging. You can actually buy these from firebox or someone similar. Probably good fun for those who just want to muck about recording a guitar into a laptop. Jean-Luc Pickguard
Behringer already make guitars with this kind of thing built in: http://www.behringer.com/IAXE624-BD/index.cfm?lang=eng Their similar "dongle-style" interface is about £40 http://www.behringer.com/UCG102/index.cfm?lang=eng I still can't see the point in installing it inside a guitar though; the hassle and limitations seem to outweight any benefits. SJA
nice job (apart from the useless surplus socket...) but a lot of work. and those Behringer USB guitars are only £75 http://www.petercooks.co.uk/clearance.php it's a bit like Guy Pratt telling of how he had a Musicman fitted with MIDI to drive a Moog synth- and then concluded "great, now I've got 5 grand's worth of octave pedal that doesn't track very well- waste of time".
