Dropzone Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 It is already probably on here somewhere but I couldn't find the "search". I want to be pretentious and get some personalised picks. Can anyone recommend anyone? Many thanks Mike Quote

Cat Burrito Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Plus one on the EBay shops, I've done them cheaply for my last few bands. www.custompicks.co.uk is the main site of the EBayer I use Quote
BigRedX Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Are you expected to actually use these personalised/custom picks? Or are they just to give away to "fans"? All the promotional ones I've ever come across have been the nastiest things imaginable. Pick choice is as particular as any other piece of musical equipment. The picks I use are the result of much trial and error to find what suits me and the instruments I play, and produce the sounds I want. I don't see that kind of choice available from the producers of personalised picks. Quote
7string Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) Try In Tune picks Great service and a brilliant product. As BigRedX says some promotional picks are not up to the job, but these guys deal with players around the world. When I was hosting a Hospital radio show (The Melodic Rock Show), I asked them to make some picks which I could give as momentos to interviewees. They're excellent quality and I'm still using them both on bass and guitar a few years later. Edited December 3, 2009 by 7string Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 i get mine done by in tune too. Quote
BigRedX Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Having had a look through all the custom pick vendors sites listed here, I'm sorry to say that there's not one that appears to be able to offer anything close to a pick that I would consider using, in any circumstances other than because I didn't have any of my regular picks available and the song was unplayable finger-style for me. It's not just me being unreasonably fussy. I used to play with a guitarist who used different picks for different songs depending on how he was going to play. For him the choice of pick was as important as the chord voicing or which effects/amp setting to use. Quote
RussFM Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I've used Clayton before, got the yellow Dunlop's I usually use, with my band logo on, will be getting more soon. Quote
