For sale, to fund GAS for a Rebelhead 450, my pristine Trace Elliot AH300SMX. It’s got fantastic tone and has recently had a full service by Electronic Music Services in Southend, who are the Service Centre recommended on the current Trace website. It’s been returned in as new working order and sounds fantastic.

I can’t claim to be a Trace expert but there’s plenty out there who would say that the GP12 SMX pre-amp was as good as it got. It really can produce pretty much any sound you can imagine, from a huge reggae dub, to a nice, warm finger-style punch and a cut-glass hi-fi sound. This amp has so many useful sound shaping options that it’s difficult to know where to start, but here’s a quick run down:

Variable Solid State/Valve Input Blend
‘Traffic light’ input gain set,
Two Trace Pre-Shape options with In/Out switch
12 band Graphic EQ
Graphic Level knob with In/Out switch
EQ Balance blend (which, to my ear, works a little like the Markbass VLE circuit)
Dual Band Compressor
Variable Effects Level control of the effects loop
Standby button (which doubles as a Mute function)
Effects loop with variable Send and Full Range or High pass options
DI Out
Tuner Output
Foot switch (not included)
1/4” Jack outputs x 2
Output – 280w RMS, 580w Peak

I’m looking for £300.00 delivered / £290.00 collected. You could pick up one a little cheaper, I admit, but this thing has been babied and is in pretty much showroom condition, and you’ll have the peace of mind of it working flawlessly after a full service by people who know what they're doing.
Fantastic price ! I had the 400 watt version and it was damn damn good! Very loud and crisp amps. Good luck with the sale.
Thanks - since picking this up and using it regularly my mission has been to find one of the Class D/Lightweights that gives me something like the tone of the Trace, it sounds that great. Anyway, I'm hoping the Rebelhead, with it's four band semi-parametric EQ, is going to be the answer.

Great piece of kit.

My main gigging amp for the last 3 years has been a Trace AH300-12, playing twice a month and rehearsal weekly.
I typically play through a pair of 4x10s and push fairly hard to compete with a very loud drummer, and a noisy guitarist equipped with a Marshall stack

Through all that it's never let me down....

Good luck with the sale but think hard about keeping the Trace - It's one you'll regret selling.
