Paul_C Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I'd be surprised if it was particularly rare though, yellow was one of the three colours sold in the UK Quote
ahpook Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 i like 'em, but yellow's no colour for a bass. Quote

Happy Jack Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I've never understood why someone trying to sell a decent musical instrument would choose to show just a single crap, out-of-focus photograph and not even supply a link to any of the myriad free photo-hosting sites he could use if he wants to minimise his eBay listing fees. At least show several crap, out-of-focus photographs. Quote

john_the_bass Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 They're nice basses - I had an original '68 in a sort of Pelham Blue on loan to me for a while. Really loud and punchy, nice neck, 32" scale is nice too. I've seen reissues recently hit £500 Quote
Bassassin Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 (edited)

I'm sure a couple of years back, someone on here had a bright yellow SBV, "Wayned" with black & white chequerboard stripes. I've got a blue one (formerly part of Paul C's legendary collection) and it's great. It'll be even better when I finally get around to making it a pink pearloid scratchplate. Edit - Blue one just like mine on Fleabay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rare-Yamaha-SBV-500-...emZ230408698047 Jon. AndyTravis Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I love them. Bonkers. The blue ones are pure dirt. Quote

I seem to recall you had about 14 of them, including the lovely Miki Furokawa sig. I had a blue SBV500 for a while, they're decent sounding well-made and unusual basses and this one looks as though it will go for next to nothing. Quote
