Hi guys and gals,

Does anyone know if the Behringer Xenyx 1204 allows you to control mutiple inputs on your software recording plat form?

So, say I D.I my bass, the guitar and the vocals, all onto the Behringer Xenyx 1204, and I then hook that up to the Laptop as the Behringer Xenyx 1204 is a USB audio interface, will that then allow me to control the 3 different inputs on the laptop too? Or would I simply just have a stereo/mono mix of the 3 channels, being sent as a single channel to the laptop?

Does that make sense?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks
Jamie

The website doesn't make it entirely clear, but the mixer doesn't appear to have built-in USB connectivity. They just bundle a USB interface (I'd guess one of these) with it and advise to connect it to the CD/tape phone input/output sockets. That would mean you'd just get the stereo mix on your computer.

That's exactly what I just found out too, which is a bit of a shame. I guess it'd be alright for a rough mix of the drums then, but I'd have to get the levels right before sending the audio to the DAW i guess.

Hmm...food for thought!

Thanks mate.

+1 It's a 2 in / 2 out USB interface. All you can do is pan the channels left and right to send on 2 channels.
