strings for a 6string

looking for some new strings for my 6 anybody got any recomendations?

All strings sound different on different instruments, you need to experiment to find the ones that work for you.

Unfortunately that can be quite an expensive business .

Status 'Hotwires' are a pretty good, and reasonably priced stainless steel string.

I like DR Lo-Rider nickels.

DR HiBeams or D'addario ProSteels. Both superb strings (if you like the tone rich and reasonably bright) and long-lasting.

When I was on 35" (extended) scale I used the medium weight, but now I'm on 34" (regular) scale I find the light weight better - easier to play and less inharmonicity on the lowest notes.

Pretty good value I reckon, and great guys to deal with.

Try blackdog music for mail order strings.tHEY DO SOME VERY USABLE ENTRY LEVEL STRINGS FOR 6 STRING BASS ..............whoops caps lock ................ I`ve used about 5 sets of theirs with no problem(olympia strings).

cheers for the info been looking at the overwater strings they look like good value, the link for black dog music looks interesting i`ll check it out thanks!
