I've asked the seller if there's a serial number on the bass. Reply: "Not that I can see".

Just curious - why the extra hole in the backplate? Is that a Fender backplate retro-fitted to a copy?

That's pure minimum-effort "I'll turn this copy into a real Fender". A quick decal and a neckplate off Ebay. The hole in the neckplate is for a micro-tilt adjustment socket that you obviously don't get on Indonesian clones.

The Fender Corona backplate isn't right for the 70s logo on the headstock. And the backplate is a micro-tilt as previously posted - but that's not a micro-tilt body (you can see solid wood through the hole). Plus no serial number.

To be fair the seller doesn't appear to intentionally pulling the wool (blatant pics, cash on collection, straight up reply about serial) - s'pose it could be a double bluff just waiting for the right idiot to come along. For shits 'n giggles it'd be nice to find out what the reserve is.
