solo4652 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 See: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Precision-Bas...=item2557ad5ed7 I've asked the seller if there's a serial number on the bass. Reply: "Not that I can see". Quote

Happy Jack Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Just curious - why the extra hole in the backplate? Is that a Fender backplate retro-fitted to a copy? Quote
maxrossell Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 That's pure minimum-effort "I'll turn this copy into a real Fender". A quick decal and a neckplate off Ebay. The hole in the neckplate is for a micro-tilt adjustment socket that you obviously don't get on Indonesian clones. Quote

The Fender Corona backplate isn't right for the 70s logo on the headstock. And the backplate is a micro-tilt as previously posted - but that's not a micro-tilt body (you can see solid wood through the hole). Plus no serial number. Not for me! Quote

Ou7shined Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Big old fakey Fakerson. To be fair the seller doesn't appear to intentionally pulling the wool (blatant pics, cash on collection, straight up reply about serial) - s'pose it could be a double bluff just waiting for the right idiot to come along. For shits 'n giggles it'd be nice to find out what the reserve is. Quote
The Bass Doc Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I'm liking your festive avatar Ou7shined - seems to a left-hander played upside down. To be sure of the model can you make it pan down any? Quote

The Bass Doc Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 A view of the bridge area would help so that I can see if the (G) string is top-loaded or through body. Quote

Just laughed a bit TOO loudly in the office there! Ha ha, "bridge area"! Quote
The Bass Doc Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I do beg your pardon. Beedster and I are simply discussing the credentials of the bass in question without descending into the innuendo/filth that some people on this forum are frequently a bit too keen on. 'Disgusted of Gosforth' Quote

Ou7shined Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Sorry lads can't confirm if she's top-loaded or through body. T'was something I shopped up the other night (from a slightly scarier original) and sadly the "interesting area" was already obstructed... and you couldn't see her fanny either. Quote
The Bass Doc Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009
A view of the bridge area would help
Whad'ya reckon Beedster - front loading badass in black? Quote
hillbilly deluxe Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 (edited) I thought you were Disgusting of Throckley ?? Back loading usually costs extra. Edited December 8, 2009 by hillbilly deluxe Quote
The Bass Doc Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I did indeed reside in Gosforth for a while - I sometimes go back there just to be disgusted. But I must now own up to being Thrawn of Throckley. Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 £382.42 Oh dear - someone's wasted their cash on a dog look at the hole pattern on the pickguard - its a squier affinity or copy. Quote
aznbass Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Its collection i think, so if the guys dished out almost £400, i assume he knows a little about basses (why did he buy it?), And then.. hopefully the seller will end up with a bloody nose! Quote
