petergales
Just taken delivery of my new GT200 for its first gig On Saturday gone. Some feedback from Saturday night's gig from the guitarist in VagaBond Hey Pete, First of all the amp sounds amazing. Its a million times better than your old one. Such a huge warm deep sound, very musical sounding if that makes sense! (You know what i mean). I cant believe what a difference it has made. Cheers Scotty My "old one" was an Aguilar DB751 so it's great that my new GT200 got such brilliant praise and recognition. The feedback was completely unsolicited. The other band playing on the bill also used our backline and we were blown away by the beautifully warm and creamy bass tone that really cut through the mix. I can't thank you guys at Matamp enough for building me a bass masterpiece! Kindest regards Pete Edited June 18, 2012 by petergales

longtimefred
christ Quimby that Meat DI sounds good and that was when it wasnt working properly. Im very VERY interested in hearing this running properly. I cant figure out how you are running it with your rig. Are you plugging into that then from that into the GT200? Doing that does it give you an extra load of pre amp to use, gain etc. What bonus's does it give you compared to just the GT? Also, PM me if you dont want to tell but how much was it? I might be very tempted to run one along side my V4 instead of the sansamp. Will

Will
Hi Will these sound clips are when i first got it, they are recorded with no eq as the bass knob was not working at the time and that made the treble be to harsh so i had that off to. I run it as bass to d.i. then patch it into the gt00 then i run it so the d.i. sound is seperate from the gt200, it has an out on the back so you can run it into a slave or preamp fx loop of a amp. I dont need to run another preamp into the gt200 as it's perfect. so yeah those clips were just the bass d.i. with no eq I just had it modded at the factory to get the new gt200mk2 preamp so its now got an extra valve and a new gain section and a mid knob. if you go up to the factory and try it out if you like and ask them about a price. mine cost a wee bit as i have had it modded Edited July 10, 2012 by quimbymeat
Hi Not really had a good session to test the 4x10 out since purchasing it but from the little go that I have had with it it seems to have more bottom end, power and punch. I really think that being non ported makes a big difference as well. How much did the mods to your gt200 cost if you don't mind me asking ? Pm me if you would rather discuss that way. Cheers
quimbymeat
It was th bass d.i. that i got modded not the gt200, Andrew said you can't mod the older gt200 but it's still the perfect head anyways

paulflan0151
what are the custom options like for matamp amps? I'm thinking more along the lines of EQ voiceing rather than finish. Might take a trip down to the factory, it's only a hour away for me. Can anyone give me a out line of the amps tone? I'm sure they sound great. Thanks
