WonderHorse
Where is there no mention of bass amps on the Matamp website?
umcoo
There's no mention of the bass amps on the website at all, that's where! Sorry, I jest. You have to ring up and ask.
tayste_2000
The cabs are mentioned in the cabs section But clearly from the website it's not kept all that up to date.
Andy Blowers
TaySte, you've got a Simms-Watts I see. How do you like it? I've got an old 100 watt that needs work... Interesting to talk to someone else using one for bass.
tayste_2000
I have 2 actually a PA100mk1 and mk2, great amps actually one of my fav bass sounds is one of them and my 4x10, however I do like to run it full whack into an 8x10 not even remotely clean when doing that but sounds awesome. I lent Monz one of them while he got his GT200 built. Defo worth the expense of getting one up and running.

steve-soar
Steve, I saw the amp the other week at rehearsals in Liverpool, it is utterly beguiling.

I HIGHLY recommend a flight case for it. Probably be £150 but money well spent. Is it built to have a really dirty tone?!

Finbar
Yeah, I want a flight case for it. It's on the list of things to buy, but there are other pressing issues. I have a head cover I bought from Matamp while I was there which is okay for now though. Intend to leave it on as much as possible - want to keep it bright white ^_^ It isn't necessarily built specifically to have a dirty tone, but when you get the lowest gain setting to sound dirty just by turning the master volume up about half way, then you know the thing is going to be filth central. Weird though - I had the volume really low at a gig the other day in a pub with no PA support and it was plenty loud enough (had to turn down so we didn't trip the noise limit machine box thing). But plugging away in my practice room today, it seemed a lot quieter. It's a hard to beast to control though - I'd love it if the drive you get didn't overdrive the low end quite as much too. And when it's cranked, you can really see the speakers in my Schroeder working VERY hard for it D: There's a Matamp GT1 creeping into the bottom corner of that last photo too Edited January 18, 2010 by Finbar

Finbar
Just thought I'd add that. We were running bass through both of them (not at the same time) last night just to see what it sounded like.
