Arrakis
I plan on loading on of the 4x12s with bass 12" and running a full stack, any recommendations on bass 12" for that dimension cab?
Arrakis
Just thought I'd add that. We were running bass through both of them (not at the same time) last night just to see what it sounded like.
That GT1 looks tall against the GT200 which is normally a bigger amp, whats the power of that 80, 120 or did Jeff knock you up something even bigger for bass? because as i understand it the GT1 isn't cut out for bass. might be a perspective thing though i guess. Arrakis
Cool, thats the newer basket weave isn't it. Was never quite convinced by it myself, fab looking amp mind just abit to peppermint for me, after the original green i prefer the green bubble they did. Unfortunately no more colours for anyone once the stock is gone its gone. When I was last at the factory easter time Jeff was saying that the company thats makes the plastic are no longer making short runs or different colours. 50o0metres per order that's 200 rolls per order from now on apparently, 15-20k worths. It seems it takes a day to shut down and a day to start up the machines that prints the plastic with a few hundred metres of wastage so the suits have said no more. Someone with in the company has even tried to organised doing runs during down time but thats been refused too. such a shame

But I'm not certain. It's in that ballpark. It wasn't bought for bass though, just to clear that up. My GT200 just has a slightly smaller enclosure than a normal one. A standard one is about an inch wider and taller I think.

I should be careful running bass through the GT1 though I've heard that it can damage the transformers if you push it too hard, but then again other people have said they havent had a problem. Other than the Bass 200 I used to play bass through my GT120 but theyre designed to have any instrument played through them the GT200 is basically a 200watt KT 88 version of the GT120. That makes more sense now didnt realise the could squeeze those massive transformers into a smaller box. Liking the white too.
Basszilla
Arrakis, no mine's not the basket weave, it's the bubble. I did want the basket but they didn't have enough of it left for my gt200. My guitarist had the last GT120 in green weave. Cracking amps! Your two channel bass amp looks amazing!

wayne58
Just collected these this afternoon, Jeff swapped the 2x12 I bought off Steve as I prefer the Lloyd loom as opposed to black speaker cloth. Can't wait to gig em!!

TankJon
I've not tried one of the Peacemaker heads? I heard it was partly designed by Dave at Matamp but does it sound anything like a Matamp?

Not A/Bed it with a Matamp (my slave isn't really comparable), might compare with a GTV soon though. It is two channel, unlike Matamps. It's main appeal is that you can bias it yourself (the VU acts as a bias meter) and it is fused to hell, and all tag board, so easy to maintain. tayste_2000
Just called Jeff for a chat my GT200 isn't too far off, really can't express how excited I am guys, he also said when the little spirit combo's are all gone he'll be reordering lots of the tolex he's run out of now, so when that red tolex comes back in I'll have a headcase for my Strategy 400 and Alembic preamp made and another 2x12 because those cabs are the bomb. tayste_2000
So what's a GT120 or GT1 like on bass? I do like my EL34 100w amps I've got a very naughty thought playing in my mind Going to call Jeff again to discuss
Mr. Foxen
ChiSeerkind runs a GTV from the high out on his firebass head (100hz) into a guitar cab, gives that oldschool ampeg clunk to the cleans, not hear it alone being driven though. Will report back after we have a gear nerding session since we moved into same practice space.
Finbar
GT1 is loud enough, but not that versatile. At all.

The GTV isn't a two channel amp, it is a single channel pretending to be a 2 channel. And I seem to remember a 2 channel Red amp floating around somewhere.
