tayste_2000 Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 How's that Bass DI working out for you? Have you recorded with it yet? Quote
quimbymeat Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) Today/friday i recorded only with it and it sounded perfect and i did different takes for the gain stage and to give to Jeff so they can let peeps hear the meat but i need to send it back to get a pad switch on it as the output is mental and the bass knob is not working but apart from that it sounds like a valve amp. quimbymeat Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 looks great, i will be sending my d.i. back on thursday when its finished you should go to the factory and try it out as you will need it to go with the final setup mate. Again looks great Quote
tayste_2000 Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Yeah man, I can go get my 1x18 at the same time Quote
rapscallion Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 That rig is a monster What's the tayste switch for? Quote
tayste_2000 Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 The Tayste switch bypasses the front presence, bass and treble controls and switches it to a default trim pot setting inside the amp that I set at the factory. So basically my own preset in the amp, this means I always have the same tone, I can lend the amp out to people and they can mess with the controls but not affect my tone. It's worked really well, best amp I've ever owned Quote
cheezus Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012
Yeah man, I can go get my 1x18 at the same time
How's the 1x18" working? cheezus Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Just got my new 4x10" cab. I sent an inquire to Matamp for a 1x18" cab...let's see that what they answer. Quote
GarethFlatlands Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012
Here are some snaps of my rare Bass 200 being serviced ready for me sometime this week I suspect (waiting on a new custom faceplate Bass 200 not to be confused with the GT200 this has 4 transformers, 4 preamps tubes and 2 full channels of goodness.
I dread to think what that weighs, the transformers are a good few kilos each. Mine has 2 and is heavy enough. Quote
tayste_2000 Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 Feels like 2 GT200's in the same box Quote
cheezus Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Just ordered a 1x18" cab. The 4x10" is probably the loudest thing ever - I think that it beats many of the 8x10" cabs out there. Can't wait to get the 4x10" + 1x18" setup. Quote
tayste_2000 Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 It doesn't beat a Matamp 8x10 but it sure is close. The 1x18 is awesome, if I wasn't getting married I'd have one by now and it will be my first purchase post honeymoon Quote
clarkpegasus4001 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I have a real fondness for Matamps. Has anyone seen the "Green" by Matamp stack currently on Ebay? I was just wondering if it was owned by a Basschatter? Quote
tayste_2000 Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unique-Green-Matamp-Bass-Amp-Cabs-/190677671174?pt=UK_MusicalInstr_Amplifiers_RL&hash=item2c65465d06#ht_660wt_1366 Yeah looks like a highly modified GT120 Good price, good amp for a doubler but anyone just after a bass amp would get more joy out of a GT200. In saying that, if you like to run a cranked amp with a bit of twang I could see this being great. The 2x15 in it is certainly interesting as a fane loaded cab Quote
tayste_2000 Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Quimby, just wondering if you've got anything recorded with that DI yet? Quote
quimbymeat Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I am in American at the moment and before that i was on tour for three weeks in europe but i will sort it out 100% when i get back as it is finished. bass chat will not let me post pics. if anyone wants to see it finished then give me your email. It is one of the best things i have ever bought and the tube grind is insane. Quote
