Wow ... thanks for reminding me just how good Jon Cleary's band is. Definitely worth catching next time they're in the UK.

Hi Andy, sadly they're not together any more, so unless that changes we've only got the records!

But, good news….Aaron Neville and Keb Mo are playing at the Barbican, London, on 7[sup]th[/sup] Nov. The bad news is, I'm gigging and can't go!!!

The vocal style might not be to everyone's taste but this is a great track and a great bass line from Marcus.

Have not heard this for a long time my love of Deep purple many years ago
got me into what Tommy Bolin had done prior to joining them and so led me to
this album and a lot of the 70s fusion stuff.

If you get bored with the long intro the bass kicks in about 3.00...bassline sampled/copied
by massive attack of course.

For me, Tommy Bolin's best stuff was his solo work, such as his album "Teaser" - plus what he did with The James Gang (especially the beautiful "Alexis").

After The Brecker Brothers' "East River", this is one of my favourite 'rock-funk-groove' numbers.

Everyone should go and see Maceo live at least once ... he seems to visit London fairly regularly.
