just goes to show how popular your thread was/is Pete.... got to love Pleasure.. like a cross between EWF and the Ohio Players.. the great sound of a jazz bass... what i love about this band it wasnt just straight up funk, it had some very melodic elements in there sound...

imo.... although its alot faster in tempo, than we might be used to, i think this is fabulous,, Maceo Parker is so so good on this ... for me, the performance of this man is enough.. the things on top are just pure gold..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ni5ELUVM2eI#!

There's any number I could have picked, but plumped for this seeing as it kicks off with the bass. Great playing/tone. Allen McGrier, I believe?

Cheers mate- that album is brilliant, I recommend it highly. In fact the bass playing on all her albums is fantastic, check them all out if you haven't already.

I think I may have posted this one earlier on in the thread a few eons ago, anyways, for any late comers here you go.
Randy Bramwell on the Bass. I had the pleasure of talking to him a while back and he was chuffed I remembered this track and that it's in my all time favourite top 10. Hope you all enjoy it.
