Fender MIM Jazz questions

Hi. Sorry for the newbie question that's about to follow. I have the chance of getting hold of a new (but 2008) Fender Mexican Jazz in Metallic Blue with RW neck for £399.
Is this a good deal?
Does the body alter from that year to this year's models and are there any other differences between the models from these years.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Ta in advance!

not much...
Colour options, lake placid is the new electon for the blues, and chrome red changed to candy apple red.
They now offer a maple board option too.
The logo has gone less fussy and more 70's, and the serial number is on the back of the headstock.
They've tinted the neck too...

But sound and playability wise, it's going to be the same...

If you do buy the 2008, I'd recommend changing the pups at some point, the stock MIM ones are very weak.

I don't know about the new models they may be better by now.

I swapped the original pups out for a pair of Seymour Duncan Vintage JBs on my 2006 MIM Jazz and it was a revelation.
Hmmm... £399 seems a bit high to me, they were/are around that new. I got my 2002 MIM P of the bay for £250.

I'd get one of the new ones, they can't be much more than that.
To buy a new MIM they are now £500ish

I have two MIM Jazz basses and they are both great. One was bought from new and the other second hand, but both have fantastic necks ang great natural tone. In both cases however, I have replaced the pickups (DS Hots in one and Wizard 84s in the other). For an unused 2008 the price seems reasonable given that they seem to be about £450 for a 2009 in most places. Go on, get a Jazz, you know you want to!
