Sorry mate I meant I couldn't see a link but I can now! Must have been my laptop having a barainfart.

Not sure really, I think it looks OK body shape wise, but the picture is unfortunate in background choice which makes it look a little confusing. I am no expert on fender headstocks and stickers either. Put us out of our misery someone!

I'm no Fender expert, but 37 bids (and counting), user ID kept private and a current price of £1500 seems a little odd to me! £1500 is a lot of money for this bass, right??

It looks ok to me.

I don't think it's expensive, it's a stunner. I sold my '80s P for over a grand.

Looks are worth a lot of money with these basses, I bet this will go at least £300 above its lesser looking contemporaries.


Pictures could have been better though!

- they seem a bit selective to me, can anyone make out the 'fender' on the machine heads?

I guess I'm just a guardian angel I looked at that bass and it just didn't look right, a bit like a girl who's had her nose and cheekbones done if that makes any sense?

PS I have no disdain for collecting basses at all, if you're referring to my comments in the recent discussion of the dubious CAR '72 Jazz, it's more that if you're a collector you have to know what you're doing. As a player, if I play a bass and like it I'm happy, even if the pickguard isn't original! Collectors I guess don't have that luxury, but perhaps can't complain if their lack of expertise leads them to a dodgy bass

Nah, both. In fact, they were rosewood-only for the first couple of years.

That bass looks fine to me. Rather nice, and rather heavy!

Recon its just a feature of the angle the photo was taken from and the background. Looks like a nice bass to me but i'm not really into vintage.
