maxrossell Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Wow. He's gonna make a packet on that. Quote
EssentialTension Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 Brand new seller but at a glance it does look like it could be real. Quote

Kev Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 i dont think there is any questions about this one, despite his feedback rating that is exactly what he says it is. Mummy got him a better gift than i think he could have ever have thought! Quote
skankdelvar Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 That's a really, really pretty bass. Blonde, not mustard. I'd love to have a look at that in the flesh. So nice, it's almost pointless speculating as to whether it's 'correct' or not. Gen or fake, it's kind of got that 'glow' about it. Quote
OldGit Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Yup lovely .. Even the mention of the ubquitous "Uncle" seems genuine Quote
Stingray5 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 All things being genuine, I'd put the owner at around 65 years old - which would make this a nice little lump sum towards a pension. Quote
TheButler Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Stunning. I agree, it does have a really amazing glow of pure nostalgia. Quote
doctorbass Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Sad to think that it will be snapped up, tucked away and never gigged. I'd play the hell out of that..... Quote
Cat Burrito Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 It's a stunner, no question. I can't help wonder what the import tax would be Quote
EssentialTension Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 There are three things troubling me: 1. In pic ten, where the finish is chipped away from the body edge by the bridge, shouldn't the exposed wood be dirtier? Perhaps it has been stored in a very clean way. 2. It must surely be a trick of the light but in the seventh pic, looking down the removed neck, the fretboard looks the wrong colour, very rosewoody. Although if it was rosewood it would be a slab board, yes? 3. In pic four, should the pickguard screws be slot or crossheads? Some look to be slots but some are crossheads. What do you think? Quote

It's mostly sweat that discolours exposed wood, but sweat rarely gets on that area. 2. You got it, it's a trick of the light. 3. They're all crossheads. Some of then look like slots due to the angle of the light. Quote
