Dark sounding amps

I got a friend who needs a 50-100watt amp for uni. He wants one with a dark and beefy sound though.


any suggestions?

Ampeg B-100r. Portable enough, plenty loud, and nice moody tone. Not a bad price at the moment either, you can get them foir about £350 if you search the interweb. Its the one I'd go for if I didnt already have a B200r
