VT1- is too hot an input damaging?

Hi dave,

I just acquired an old VT-1 and the input is from a preamp. I can use the pad knob to calm everythig down, but the distortion I can get with a hot input might be useful.

Should I avoid distortion on the way in? Does it mean I'm doing any harm (to the valve)?

Terrible noob question, I know, but i haven't a clue how this thing works. Nice noises tho'.

Thanks,

fatback

No such thing as "too Hot" with valves. Solid State is a different matter.

Drive it as hard as you want.
