thisnameistaken
Here's the first tune I've mixed for my current (main) band, first thing I've ever mixed actually, critical feedback very welcome it's a work-in-progress: http://teop.org/media/old_friends_mix1.mp3 Known issues: Drum mix isn't right. Drums were tracking to a digi multitrack during a different session and all I got was a stereo mix, would like to sort out that hi-hat but will need to re-record. Guitar sounds a bit dull. My rookie mistake recording it I think, and it didn't have new strings on. Vox a bit low in the mix - partly a result of the drum mix and that loud hi-hat I think, but I can probably improve on this with a bit of work. Bass a bit high - there was a LP filter on it but I switched it off before I bounced the track and I probably shouldn't have! So go on, tear me a new one. I need to learn this stuff. Edit: Oh and the drummer decided to do a stick-count through the vocal break, which I can't remove. Definitely need to re-record him. Is that reverb on the vocal a bit heavy-handed?
