barrytone
Hi, I have a big problem! my kramer dmz4000 aluminium neck bass was dropped - guitar bag strap broke - and it wrenched the neck off . there was some minor wood damage but the main problem is have no idea how to get the neck back on. somethings gone wrong with the screws. seems that it will need redrilling and new screws. has anyone any recommendations for such repairs (i live in the northwest) as i dont trust myself to do this! its my pride and joy, first bass i really bonded with, im lost without it! Mr. Foxen
I reckon you need to find a metalworker that know a bit about instruments rather than a luthier. I reckon helicoil inserts would be a good engineering solution for a Kramer neck.
henry norton
Yeah, Helicoils are always a good idea for ali, but the Kramer neck fixing looks pretty unusual. Can you post some pictures of the fixings, pocket and neck heel?
