john_the_bass
I've searched the forums for this and I seem to recall there was a thread entitled "Got Wood?" but I can't find it anywhere and there's nothing in the stickies- so, do you recommend anywhere to get a block of mahogany/alder/ash big enough to cut a guitar out of? I was looking at putting together a sort of project together based on a trad design, but with different pickup options and controls. My original plan was to buy a cheap one, patch the holes and neck pocket, rout for the parts I want to put on and bob's your uncle. However, if it's cheap enough for a bit of wood, then that may be the better option and my cabinet making guitarist will rout it for me from the templates he's got. Is it as simple as typing "wood" into yell.com?
