So a friend might be getting this for christmas. He wanted to know if this is any good? These are out of production, so not much info about these out there. Don't even know what model it is except it's a Tanglewood Warrior.

I think it's supposed to be a ripoff, he was saying something about it. He wants to know if these are good in terms of tonality, slapping make etc

I've got one with a natural finish. Bought it off Ebay about a year ago for £50. Purely on a whim.

There's nothing exceptional about any aspect of the bass. I've set it up properly , stuck some decent strings on it and even gigged with it a couple of times but it's never going to be anything other than a "last resort" back up.

The neck is probably it's best feature - narrow and fast and it feels nicely balanced too. For me it's tonal properities are where it comes up short.

I was pleased enough with it for £50 though.

I played one of these when they came out, my mate bought one and it had a grey finish with the grain showing underneath. They also had a green one in the shop
I think it was in the region of £300-£400 new and i thought it was pretty good at the time

They also did one with f-holes, always fancied one of those
