I bought this off Clarky a month ago... it's the first 5 string I've ever played and it's a lovely bass, but I can't quite get on with the wide neck so I think I'm gonna have to stick to 4s!

Niceguyhomer recently sold one of these for £700 without a hard case... Clarky must have been full of festive cheer will when he sold this to me as he let me have this for the same price complete with hard case (new style rectangular lockable SKB case) and candy (Fender strap, lead, cleaning cloth, tools, spare bridge grub screws, tags, docs, etc), so I'll let it go for the same price, being the season of good will and all! They are around £1200 new, this is the only online retailer I can find that stock them: http://www.rattleanddrum.com/product/6145/...d-olympic-white

It's a 2008 model in excellent condition, no dings or scrapes, just the usual minor surface scratches that are impossible to photograph and only viewable if you put it up to your nose. It's strung with the standard Fender tapered roundwounds, I believe they were taken off the bass when new and put back on for me so they've only just about been broken in, plenty of life left in them.

I live in Croydon and able to meet around South Kensington and Clapham Junction during the week. Postage can be sorted also if you cover the costs!

Good luck with the sale Danny. Its a bl**dy nice bass in fabulous nick but, like you, 5 strings and me didn't mix too well.

The previous owner was dave_bass5 who should be able to reveal more of the provenance. I think its a 2008 although you wouldn't know if it was a 2009 as its in such good condition.

I borrowed homer's for a short time before he sold it, and I was bowled over, loved it, loved it. Superb basses, and I really wish I had 700 quid spare, because I'd snap this one up.

just to say, unless it was pre-xmas pricing, it was going to be around £25-30+, standard delivery, to send my baritone off (being pretty light and not as large as a bass/hardcase) so just look around for a correct price before you put yourself out of pocket + use the post office as a last resort too, i had fun and games trying to send with thier T&C's =]

ps: i got a MMS5 i could trade and posssibly pay extra =] PM if interested but otherwise good luck selling.

BUMP!! :)

Maybe not.
The keys/locks used are TSA ones, used by customs etc. As far as i know they aren't specific to each case so i can see the point of asking.

Completely fair point.
In my haste, I randomly had in my head that he was asking for one of the tuner keys.......god knows why....I never call them that! lol
Silly brain

i need a new bass for some jazz trio gigs, ideally for a big 'un on monday since i don't wanna take the ricky out no more.

i'm looking at a jazz bass on ebay at the minute but i'm not sure i'm going to get it for the price i want.

maybe you can convince me that this p-bass would work nicely in a jazz trio ?
