dougal
For sale, a Carvin XB-75P. I've had this from new since I lived in the USA & bought it circa 2004. It's a wonderful example. The flamed koa top is lovely! The reason for selling is that it's just not being used any more due to a shift back to a 4. More details on the electrics etc are available on the carvin museum site: http://www.carvinmuseum.com/playersgallery/xb75.html http://www.carvinmuseum.com/decade/images/04-lb75.html Note that this is a 'P' which means it has the piezo under the bridge, so the controls are volume, balance between the magnetic pickups, balance between magnetic & piezo. Three band eq. The small switch is a coil tap. Mostly I run it 100% magnetic & 50/50 between the pickups, with a little tweak of eq where required. (See sound files below). It's also electronically tagged. On-line review: http://www.carvinmuseum.com/decade/images/...xb75review.html Comes with a hard case and shipping. It's easy to slap on due to slightly wider than normal string spacing on a 5 (~18mm) and plenty of room in front of the front pup: Ed Friedland describes his carvin as 'a slap monster' on his slap bass DVD. Here he is in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_3Ec0DsfxI You're welcome to try it out in Thorpe (near Egham) and I can deliver to the centre of London if you want to save shipping. I'd prefer a straight cash sale, but I'm open to trade offers. Edited July 12, 2010 by dougal
silverfoxnik
That is a very good price IMO for such a hi-spec bass! IIRC, this bass was at the SE Bash in 2008 and it looked the business, though I didn't have a play on it myself.. Good luck with the sale!

jembullo
I think normal tuning would be a positive move, I might be tempted again then !! octaedro7
Really good looking. What's the string spacing at the bridge?
dougal
The wider asymetrical five-string neck has .750" (19mm) spacing, string center to string center, at the bridge, same as a four-string. The regular five string neck has somewhat narrower .669" (17mm) string spacing. String spacing at the nut is the same for both.
Source: http://www.carvinguitars.com/bbs/viewtopic...daaa677b263ad26 This is the wider version. I measured it at 18.5mm It tapers down to a regular 5-string spacing at the nut.
