Some YouTube demos:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SPA42c8glk

The demos show some modern/slap playing but I've got this one setup as a trad' P bass (with some nice FWounds) which provides a great James'J/traditional sound (which can easily be modified with use of the tone control). If changed to R'wounds then the bass will sound as per the vidz.
Was interested to try this new/concept bass with a radical new design and the new pickups but find I'm not using it.
Not sure if (yet) available in UK, other than on ebay (?) where prices seem to go from £499 (for this model) through £699 ('L' version, which is the same but s/burst) £799 (neck-thru / 2-Pup) to £899 (LE NT/2-Pup in stealth black finish).

£275... final reduction to £249

UK RRP for this is £549:

Which makes this quite a substantial barg. I recently got the through-neck 4, and after some time spent getting it right, am gradually falling in love. :)

How wide are the necks on these? They look wide but it could be that the body is small. Are they similar width to a p-bass?
Also, how's the balance?

Cheers

Very much a P bass with a radical body design and new-concept pickup.
If you watch the youtube demo (link?) the chap demo'ing makes a similar comment.
Balance is fine.

Not really - looks nice bass, but I'm OK for 5's currently and have had issues with most J5's in the past.

BUMP for a Bargain / opportunity.

Another last bump/try @ £249 incl.
Just had another check on ebay: this one's there @ £499 (BIN + £20 p&p) ... but only in black or blue; to me, the red is by far the nicest finish.
If it's not attracting any serious interest, I may as well try it on ebay. If preferred, I can change back the Flats to roundwounds.

£249 incl.
