Niceee, I'm liking that. Hopefully have my Korg AX3000B soon, and actually start to do some proper stuff lol.

Check out a band called Miloopa. Their bass player makes some sick sounds. Check out this track from around 3 mins in:

Right, I got the Korg AX3000B earlier today, so I'll hopefully have had a proper good play around with it in the next couple of days, but I do have a lot of schoolwork to be doing, so time is somewhat tight. Assuming that the effects are in the order they're listed on the pedal (left to right) then it should be alright, as I'll probably be using it Octave>Fuzz>Filtron/Classic Flanger>Studio Reverb. Should sound the dogs danglies, I hope.

I use that wobbly d&b sound on a tune. To get it from a bass guitar I use an SYB-5 bass synthesiser with a short attack LFO sound and hammer a killswitch really fast

Don't know if you're using any sort of sequencer or computer for your set up. Anyway, Hardware get yourself an EMU E6400 classic or higher for sampling. Very good for D&B and the filters will get you the staple twisting effect. Just overdriving an 808 bdrum internally will get you the classic thump basses. For subs you just want a clean sinewave tone running seperately as the bottom end with the leads covering more in the midrange. You'll get a lot of mileage from that one unit alone.

The key to a lot of the sounds is resampling with overlaying processing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxB0BBBvgCo Emu sampling

Software synths, Native instuments Massive. That has been used a lot, one patch in particular does the wobble. It's a very simple effect in truth. Lo pass filter with an LFO controlled rate via velocity. Band pass, notch, Comb filters really anything.

If you have a bit of cash to spend on a filter then the Sherman Filterbank is very good. FX wise, anything goes from bitcrushing, distortion, flanging etc.

Good luck with the band

I do lots of Drum & Bass now, but with live drums, no sequencing and no samples.

As an effects set up I use the following...
MarkBass SuperSynth (I use the Octave side as much as the Synth)
3 Leaf Audio Groove Regulator
FuzzHugger A-BSynth (Set to Glitch as it sustains)
Guyatone PS3 Phase Shifter
EBS Unichorus (Run with Sub octave and phase shifter for huge sub tone)
Boss DD20 Delay
Boss SL20 Slicer
Moog MF-102 Ring Modulator (Exp. Pedal for Freq).

Sound is huge but takes some time to get used to switching tempo's and keeping changes tight. Lots going on but it covers all bases.

Octave is always going to be the D&B friend. I have 3 presets, but mostly use octave down with no original signal. Flavoured with soft chorus. That's the mainstaple of my sound.

That sounds pretty good. The group has downsized to just me and the DJ as our drummer didn't have much time to spare. I now am going to start running my bass into his Korg Radia to process it, which should work fine, and then add a few other FX after, if needs be. Do you gig often?

Not at the mo. We have done a few live bits and bobs but have spent ages recently getting the stuff tight enough, and interesting enough to do some real gigging. We have been asked to take a 2 hour resident spot at a local club that do loads of Drum & Bass on a friday starting in 2 months time, so the aim is to have a good recording and get rid of the stuff which is a little too 'Jazz' by then. Oh, and to perfect my pedal dance to keep it constant :-)
