pal1972 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) just seeing if theres any interest in this as i like the look of chimike's variax on here but something has to go first! its a mexican model p/j in sunbirst with an adonized gold scratchplate. has grooved saddle bridge too. its in pretty good shape just the odd minor scuff and scratch but nothing drastic, very little 'rash' on the back. it plays lovely and sounds great, the neck has started to age quite nicely and the finish has darkened up a bit - satin finish not gloss. looking for around £380 if thats not too ambitious??? pal1972 Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 prefer straight sale but open to suggestions
jonsparrow91 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I have a Fender Jazz V (mexican) for a straight swap or an Ibanez ATK300 for part exchange. If they don;t tickle your fancy have a free bump for a sexy bass
pal1972 Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 neither my cup of tea i'm afraid but thanks anyway
pal1972 Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 am i a tad optimistic here regarding the price? I can incluyde postage if this helps?
MythSte Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Where did you get the scratchplate?! I really want one of those, with three holes aswell! (Sorry for the hijack)
pal1972 Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 it came on the bass when i bought it sorry.
AndyTravis Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I keep on looking at this, i'm punishing myself really. I could only justify it to myself, and the missus, if it had a maple board. My p/j jap Squier is burst/rosewood... Best of luck mate. It's a great bass.
pal1972 Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 just checked th serial number and it dates to 2003
cremonabass Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 What is the weight of the bass? Would you considder shipping to to the Netherlands. Thanks
pal1972 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Not sure of the weight i can try and weigh it on my bathroom scales but cant guarantee the accuraccy!! I'd prefer to ship to the uk, but if you want to pm me your address details i can get a qute but it may be quite pricey!
cremonabass Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Yeah I checked it out, too pricey unfortunately. good luck with the sale!
pal1972 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 thought so! cheers I'd consider trades for a lightweight head if anyone else interested??
jonsparrow91 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Just saying your price may be a bit too steep, especially seeing as this isn't the active version. I got a great condition Fender Jazz V with a Bass Bridge for £250 off here.
AndyTravis Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I think your price is fine mate, just stick at £350. Spaz, mate. A Mexi Standard V isn't the same thing as a pbass special from the deluxe series. And the passive version has more fans than the active version. I'm one of 'em.
bigjohn Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) I've got a an FSR one in matt black that I wouldn't sell for £350... they're the exactly the same as the US cali series. Which they don't list anymore on the parts list maybe because it's exactly the same... not too sure on the actives though... These are great basses if you like thin thin necks, front to back. check out that spaghetti logo... cool as... Edited January 7, 2010 by bigjohn
