Cat Burrito Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Well it looks good to me... don't like the price so much! tredders Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 That does indeed look lovely. The matching headstock does it for me, too! Any idea what the other differences are, if any? Quote
doctorbass Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 If it was Oly white with the matching headstock I'd be in there.... Quote

May as well get a 75 reissue with blocks. Nice bass though still...thanks for the link. Quote
Clarky Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I can do you a nice relic'd Nash in CAR with ashtrays for under two thirds of that price! But seriously it really doesn't look like you get much extra for the money bar matching headstock and body in classic vintage colour scheme. Nice but pricey IMHO Quote
bubinga5 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Blimey, why do they wack the price up so much? for a matching headstock!!!... you can get a 75 RI for £1299 and this £300 more??? ok its a 50th Anniversary.. Fender should bring out some limited edition colors with matching headstocks, binding, string through body's, etc.. Its not special enough for £1599.99 Fender rely far too much on there image... (did i say it was lovely) Edited January 4, 2010 by bubinga5 Quote
OutToPlayJazz Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Don't worry about the hefty price tag of these, guys - They'll be £500 in the classifieds soon enough, same as nearly all Jazz basses. I need to keep my 2009 Am.Std for at least thirty years to get any money back on it, LOL! The finish of this Ltd Edition model looks really nice, though... SS73 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Didn't they do a 49th anniversary model last time. Does look nice though, but why not do an absolute as original first edition model instead of doing the same '' all the best bits '' all over again. Quote
wateroftyne Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 There was a run of these in CAR and LPB a few years back exclusively for Mars Music in the US - . They're quite sought after now. Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I've got the LPB! I think the neck may be unbound on this, and it's finished in Nitro, not poly...again, i think... I'm going to put both the covers on this one, may also get a shell pickguard on it too, just to change it up a bit. Quote

I love LPB....beats CAR anyday Covers will look awesome. Pics up when it gets to you Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 (edited) the CAR 50th is to match it, need to chase the order when the snow stops and i can get into work. Had the LPB for two months now. Edited January 5, 2010 by AndyTravis Quote

OutToPlayJazz Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I really liked the white/tort hotrod ones they did for the US market towards the end of the S1 model run. I do like the fact that these will have the 70's pickup spacing and the posiflex rods in the neck. Should be a nice bass to own. Pity about the price, though. Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Mega, nitro, 70s p/up placement and unbound. This makes me happy that i've stuck my name on one. The LPB 75 Reissue i have is going to have an un-identical 'twin'. Yay! Quote
Duarte Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Wow, looks like a Jazz Bass. Beautiful, none the less. Quote
dave_bass5 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Looks like fender are trying to rip off Lakland now Quote
Stacker Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 The one we want to see is a '65 reissue with the dot-and-bound neck, matching headstock and lollipop tuners but that would be daft coin as well!! Quote
