[email protected]
Hi all, Just putting the feelers out there as I'm looking at selling the afore mentioned amp. Might eBay it depending on the response here. I must point out that it has developed a - what seems to be electrical - crackle when certain notes are played. The noise is very intermittent and will appear somedays and disappear on others. The main reason for selling is that I'm going to get the more feature loaded Ba115hpt so have no use for a similar one. Secondly, by any stretch of the imagination, I'm no amp fixer either so would rather leave it for someone else to love! Links to 3 sound clips are here. Unfortunately you'll have to download them, I can't figure out how to stream them. On each one everything is set to flat, I used my '57 reissue on all of them and played mostly the same thing each time. I'm in Reading, Berkshire if anyone is interested. Let me know your thoughts, thanks, Tom Edited January 5, 2010 by [email protected]

bigjohn
I'm a big fan of the rocketbass series. I've got a b50r and regularly play a b100r at rehearsals. I'm not sure I'd pay £300 for an amp that needs looking at by a tech though. Sure I think £300 or maybe a little more would be fine if it was in full working order. For what it's worth though - I reckon the rocketbass amps are MUCH better than the BA series, although I can understand the built in FX would be useful. Incidentally is it a US built one? [email protected]
Hi John, Thanks for the reply, it's good to get some opinions. I'm not too sure where it was made, I've got the serial number so what do I need from that? Interesting that you say that about the Ba series, as I said I was considering the ba115hpt as I'm really just looking for an amp to chuck in the back of vans. Thought that would be a good one. Thanks again, Tom Edited January 5, 2010 by [email protected]

Bigwan
I'd agree with bigjohn on the price. If you know anyone that's handy with 'lectronics then you could get them to look at the internal fuses of the amp. I acquired an Ashdown head from another basschat user with a similar sounding fault and it turned out to be loose fuse holders making and breaking connections. If you were closer I'd make an offer as I hear these are a nice amp - very tubey sounding for solid state.
Dex
Hi Tom, are you still looking to sell this amp? If so could you say how old it is and also - do you have the castors for the bottom? Cheers Dex [quote name='[email protected]' post='700897' date='Jan 4 2010, 08:13 PM']Hi all, Just putting the feelers out there as I'm looking at selling the afore mentioned amp.
