dannybuoy
This brightened up my day: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=611919 I believe that random acts of kindness like this can spread like a happy infection and make the world a better place. If only bass players were put in charge of running the world, everything would be alright!
gary mac
brightened up mine as well, thanks.

This GE guy is responsible for all this, him and the ley lines
basshead56
Just finished all 16 pages. Wow! Bass related stuff has made me teary eyed before-but only out of beauty. This truly is a heart-warming story. Fair play to GE. One simple act of random kindness yielded a fantastic outcome. Hope it all goes well for them. Huw Foster
I'm such a cynic. I had to try really hard to suspend my disbelief when the long-lost brother started posting. Here's hoping for a positive outcome!

stevebasshead
GE will, I hope, get some amazing karma from this. You know, if this had been on the telly I'd have turned off long ago 'cos it would've felt schmaltzy and contrived deliberately to tug at the heartstrings. What makes this one so special is that it's truly random, one simple act of kindness started a ball rolling that no-one could've seen coming. What a way to end one decade and start another

Still, one never knows, maybe Butch bullied and abused him relentlessly when they were children and for 40 years has suffered trauma and personality disorder as a result. He has now located his abusive brother's whereabouts and bloody and prolonged revenge is imminent. Maybe a good book is imminent. I just hope my first instinct is correct, that it's all going to with loveliness and happiness.
paul h
Maybe a slight overreaction but an understandable one IMHO. Considering the highly emotional context, unnecessary accusations are just a bit... unnecessary. It's a sad trend with forums unfortunately. In the real world it is generally acknowledged that sometimes negative thoughts are best left unsaid. Some people don't seem to think that same restraint applies on the web. If you're hanging out with a new group of friends down the pub and one of them comes right out and accuses you of something dishonest, then maybe that will make you think twice about associating with them. I don't see why a forum would be different. That aside, it's a great story and hopefully all will end well and hopefully the beating Andre gets off Butch won't do any permanent damage!
