ashevans09
To be fair, I've not actually recorded drums with it yet as my kit lives at church most of the time. My plan was to record as midi. Next upgrade was to buy logic express as I believe it has a better set of drum samples to use. Although you can apparantly record as midi and then send the midi back to the kit and record using the line in f you want the sound off the drum module.

ah right electronic kit, i didn't read that very thoroughly! yeah you can do that i think, makes sense. or you could do a live recording with just the line out off the drum module i think.
Just an FYI for anyone wanting to record drums out there - recently picked up a set of Red5 drum mics (they have an outlet on evilbay and a website) and they are brilliant. Great way of doing it on a budget and for the price you pay you get a hell of alot of bang for your buck (4 snare/tom mics, one kick mic, 2 overheads, clips to attach mics to drums + flightcase for £157 ffs!). Even scarier they sound good too. I'll post samples at some point in the next few weeks Cheers, Ash

7string
I use XLN Audio Addictive Drums. Great bang for the buck and it doesn't need masses of hard drive either.
Sawtooth
I knew there would be a topic like this buried somewhere deep .... Having just spent most of my day giving my 'toy box' a well needed spring clean (any excuse to not to clear out the shed like the Wife suggested), I thought I'd take and share some pics for those who may be interested. I don't think it's ever been this tidy and probably never will be again. Enjoy ... Please fire away if you've any questions ...... unless it's "where do you live?" ahpook
here's a couple of shots of my home studio...or the spare room as girlfren likes to call it there's a dual core PC using nuendo and ableton, running from an m-audio nrv-10, with midi link to an alesis d4 drum module, a roland jv-880 and also a ridge farm gas cooker valve DI (old skool !! ) does me fine. the spare bed adds an essential vibe too Edited March 24, 2011 by ahpook

jensenmann
Waynepunkdude, what piece is the second Drawmer below the 1960? Is it the old version of the 1960 or something else? Here´s some guts from the place I´m working at. The controlroom pictures were taken when the installation was not completed, though. There´s quite some more stuff added in the meantime.
