Don't let the fact the RS cabs are cheaper put you off. A test will definitely help. I never thought about them until I heard the 210/212 together and it sounds fantastic! Brilliant with a Lakland JO5, stunning B.

I'm now gassing for them due to the form factor!

Just straight in the back at the moment. It's loud enough but it's like running a Ferrari on Cooking Fat - you're not getting anything like the best out of it.

I'm trying to work out a few things, it's a question of a compromise between feature-set and price.

Well, if you're still not decided on one, might I suggest the SFX Sound m:D2. it is remarkably similar (almost identical!) to an Avalon U5 in terms of sound quality and purity. I've got that same circuit built into my custom jobbie from them. It will take time to be built (1-2 months total depending on where in the build cycle you jump in) but if you got something cheap to tide you over til then, you wouldn't be disappointed.

SFX also show their work on the forum. Here's a LINK to the particular post in the main thread that shows my custom device.

Feel free to email Max at SFX Sound to discuss this as an option. He is very happy to discuss your needs, and is uber-prompt at replying to emails. Also, whilst I won't discuss price here, their prices even for custom jobs like mine are extremely agreeable. Also feel free to PM me if you want any more info on my device, though speaking to them directly would be your best bet :)

I'd probably sell my Epifanis for one of those. :)
