henry norton
Hah! Another one into the fold - soon we shall rule the earth!!!!! Fender players beware
paul h
I'm not alone? Woooo! It comes from the realisation that since I have stopped playing outside of the bedroom, tone, or rather the search for it, has become more important than the notes. So I am going back to basics. I want a simple, tonally limited instrument that will force me to think about what I am playing first, and what it sounds like second. rasher80
I really really liked the EB-3 that i had a go of once in a recording studio - shame they only come righty or i'd have probably had one by now!
hillbilly deluxe
I had a 60's EB3,loved it,im really tempted by the Epi one.Massive range of tones in one bass ? the ones that i have had, ended up being unused.
gnasher1993
I've got an Epiphone EB-0 as well that's been defretted: I'm gathering the parts to refinish and mod it to make it look like this: What do you guys think?
paul h
I think that looks awesome! It's got a bit of an Italia feel to it. Nice photoshopping too!

paul h
Well, either way, nice scheme. It will look pretty cool. I am actually a world class photoshopper! I just can't be bothered most of the time!
jezzaboy
Fender players-retaliate!! Both the EBO and the EB3 are piles of complete and utter kak! I know, I have owned both for a short time. EBO given away, EB3 sold to an old guy who wanted to be Jack Bruce. Oh, how I laughed! Have you learned your lesson Grasshopper? Yes, they are plies of Kak Master!! And here endeth the lesson! paul h
Yeah, but Bill Gates owns Fender. Or something.
jezzaboy
Touche! Actually I think that they are really nice looking basses but they weren`t for me. Jez
paul h
I just fancy a change from my usual Fender (copies). Never actually played one but the missus spent £110 on a pair of very tasty Fly boots so I retaliated by ordering a bass! I used to play an Epiphone Rivoli years ago and that was lovely. I am pretty sure with a tweak here and there it will do what I want it to.

paul h
Ahhh. The secret is microwaving it, covering with a non metallic plate and stirring half way through. Instant tone.
paul h
Bugger. Gear4music have just put the deliver date back a month, so I have cancelled it. Or rather I have emailed them and asked them to cancel it as they don't offer the option on the website.

paul h
Cheers! Just ordered one. I actually tried them first last week but I was sure they were out of stock. Of course fingers crossed for a sensible delivery time. I find it quite annoying that a lot of these online shops don't advise you of a delivery date before you buy. If it's more than a week I will probably cancel again! P.

P.[/quote] Cancel, and get the real thing, there are two Gibsons for sale at the moment in the Basses for sale section. The epi has a bolt on neck, I think, and you will really love the bridge pickup on the EB3. Cat Burrito
I quite like Epiphone basses and had a few earlier on in the last decade. I had the EB3 over the EB0 as I'm just shy of 6'3" so thought I'd look odd with a short scale bass. I like the look of these though. I did find the pickups ranged from really good (Jack Casady, thunderbird etc) to quite poor (Flying V) on the ones I had. Still I like the back to basics vibe of the EB0
