Alternative use for a TC RH450

I remember once when Guitarist magazine set out to 'test' how well a Squier Strat would resist attempts to smash it to pieces. This one seems to have about as much of a point as that did.

During a period of recession, to willfully take a chainsaw to a £500 speaker cabinet that a lot of players would sell their grannies for almost staggers the imagination!

Have these guys really got nothing better to do with their time? :)

Angry old fart signing off...

...that probably only cost them a few quid to make!

Funny video. I'm not sure I'd get £500 quid for my granny, might need to sell some other people too to make up the difference :)

As there were no speakers in it, I think its value would be limited - and it may have been flawed anyway...

Without getting all Health 'n' Safety obsessive about it though - using a chainsaw without eye, hand and toe protection is fecking stupid!!

Anyway, does that mean that the amp puts out 1500w or electrical power?!? That's pretty awesome! :)

Yeh don't do that, it would be so un-cool.

The bes bit is where he's trying to set the amp EQ... Balancing it on his knee... And better still has his scarf hanging about an inch from the chain... Would of been a more fun video if he'd of taken his head off I think...

The stupidest bit of all was wearing that loose fitting scarf. Very Isadora Duncan.

<edit>

Sorry, didn't mean to sound all grumpy. That's a pretty cool experiment...

If you enjoyed that, you should check out the Tribal Planet gigbag "tests" performed by the Music Room online:

Yeah... probaly cost about £20 quid to make and was most likely a bit of a naff one.

It puts me in the mind of the "Does it blend?" videos where the dude blends the iPhones and stuff. Man I want one of those blenders...

Whats the country they were doing that in then? I guess you'd just need to play a note with a frequency that matches their national grid frequency - so 50Hz here, 60Hz in the USA - to drive the chainsaw at its "best". LOL.

Easily done in the UK: 50 Hz is a slightly sharp G on the 3rd fret of the E-string. Fret it, bend it up a bit and... voila! Boost the bass and cut everything else so you're getting more fundamental than anything else and you're away.

Wonder what the impedance of a chainsaw is...
