So is it just me who thinks that it is basically a basket case that is going to be a shed load of grief to put right, which at the end of the project will still not be worth the intimated values the seller seems to indicate? :rolleyes: :)

Well, it's what we in the business call auto-defretting. It's rare but one sometimes comes across it, especially on a loft bass as rare as this one. Although I'd agree that in excess of four pieces is uncommon. :)
