LeftyJ
My Italia Torino. Surprisingly affordable (I paid €400 brand new), yet incredible fun to play and it sounds great (deep, dark and big but with just enough brightness to still cut through thanks to that bridge pickup - which is really just a guitar humbucker underneath a closed cover):
throwoff
I was just about to say this is one of those threads I hate being a lefty for but thats quite pretty. Im not a fan of italia, their aesthetics usually prevent me even picking them up but that I like.

Alfie
Talking about Italias, has anyone ever tried the Maranello Z? It had a piezo pickup and came in interesting colours. I considered getting one a couple of years ago, but decided it wasn't worth the price tag so I never tried it. I think it is discontinued now, but does anyone have/tried one? LeftyJ
I was just about to say this is one of those threads I hate being a lefty for but thats quite pretty.
There are several nice lefty hollowbodies out there. The Eastwood Classic 4 and the Ibanez AGB200 for example. They're both in the same price range as my Italia, and all three are very nice and well-made, easy to play and great-sounding basses, especially the Eastwood. There's a nice review by Ed Friedland on Youtube.
henry norton
OK, OK, it's not a whole bass but hear me out! I can't put it in 'build diaries' because I'm not actually building it right now, I'm just experimenting with glues and laminates, but eventually I hope to have a few variations based on the same arched tops and profiles. The first one'll have DiMarzio EB type pickups and the second will have Darkstars. If this thread's still live when I get it finished I'll post! ZMech
this thread, in combination with the White Falcon for sale, has given me my first serious bit of GAS for a good year or two. derrenleepoole
My newly acquired Tanglewood TEB-12, has a 30" scale length and nice woody/humbucker tone to it. Bought for the princely sum of £

Has to be said I'm not a fan of the headstocks on those, but every time one with a traditional Fender headstock comes up on eBay, I get a GAS attack ... despite that the fact that these days I'm pretty much 5-strings only.
