I think the solo on Little sister uses it with many other effects, i'll try and remember (Ie ask my brother! he knows every one i think) but alot of Lullabies to Paralyse and Songs for the deaf he uses it, its a studio thing he likes
phil.i.stein
hi, no idea what it sounds like, but a google search led me to this : http://www.imuso.co.uk/Effects/13762-/Ashd...r-Effects-Pedal tbh, i would probably go for two different pedals, but who knows, it could work... redzombie
I'm lead to believe, that the pedal Josh Homme uses is a Fulltone Ultimate Octave.
thegreenman555
another option is to look for a Brassmaster clone - the originals date from the 70s, made by Maestro, and are collectors items. Malekko do a fair copy - known as the B:assmaster, (the Black Cat is similar, with a smaller footprint) they go for £199 new (the Malekko) - Roselane in Liverpool have one on ebay. Another option is a Polish made clone, known colloquially as the Pole Master made by a guy called Bogdan. He makes them as a hobby but puts them on ebay from time to time (plus his other pedals - Polish Love/Helter SKelter & Mephisto) - one of his clones will set you back £85 incl postage - so you pays yer money & makes yer choice! http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/malekko/bassmaster is a great resource to keep an eye out worldwide for one! check out Talkbass (if I'm allowed to mention that!) for discussion on the Polish version vs the Black Cat & there's some sound clips of it here.. devnulljp
Maestro Brassmaster! Or the Malekko Barker Assmaster. Jim Roth (from Built to Spill) builds a nice clone too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PrgyyTcnDo EDIT: Just found a B:Assmaster: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=660356 No affiliation / not mine Edited January 20, 2010 by devnulljp
krispn
Get onto glasgow gumtree over the last fw days they have had a HBE UFO (Ultimate Fuzz Octave) though I think its for guitar plus a blue box. Search a little further back and you'll find a full tone 70's pedal, again fopr guitar but fuzz only -might be edinburgh based that one. In a bit of a rush and on the mobile so i cant get any links posted up just now hope its useful Edited January 28, 2010 by krispn
phil.i.stein
Hi folks, I need to upgrade by delay pedal and get a tremolo. Up for grabs is my Black Cat Bass Octave Fuzz. I will take £100 for the pedal - but would prefer a swap/trade. The Black Cat is a replica of the Maestro Bass Brassmaster (similar to the Melekko B:Assmaster). This is original Black Cat pedal. No longer in production and very difficult to find. Near mint condition (but for some very minor cosmetic scuffs on the front - see the pics attached).

True Bypass switching
AC adaptor jack (Boss PSA/Ibanez style) or internal 9V battery
Normal Volume, Effected volume, and Drive knobs
Two toggle switches: filter and Harmonic for various tones
Fuzz with octavia sound with excellent low end response.
Heavy duty steel metal enclosure about 4" x 6.5" and 2" high
These are the pedals I am interested in:-

Lovepedal Babyface (tremolo)
Lovepedal Echobaby
Catlinbread Semaphor (tremolo)
Boss DD-7
TC Electronic Nova Repeater
Retrosonic Analog Delay
Open to other suggestions!
