Clarky Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Unfortunately has Schaller (I think) bridge and EMG pickups. Shame, for a second I thought it was what I had been after .... warwickhunt Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 (edited) I see that he's letting the pictures do the talking! <edit> The pups are the significantly cheaper EMG 'selects'... iirc they are also passive. Edited January 13, 2010 by warwickhunt Quote

Musicman20 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Pretty thing indeed. Shame its not original. That bridge stands out a mile. Quote

basshead56 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I like it, shame its not 100 per cent original, but still a lovely bass Quote
doctorbass Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Doesn't look a bad bass, but way overpriced. Quote
Ray Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Might be the light but... how much red in that sunburst??? Quote

Me like! Re: overpriced, given it would cost £500 to replace bridge and p/u's with 70-s originals I agree Edited January 14, 2010 by Clarky Quote

Re: overpriced, given it would cost £500 to replace bridge and p/u's with 70-s originals I agree
Re. overpriced - the Schaller bridge is not a direct replacement for the original Fender as the screw holes don't match up, so the body would most definitely have additional holes in it. tauzero Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Of course, if you were actually buying it to play it, the Schaller bridge would be a plus point, and then the only problem would be that it's overpriced because you can get much better basses than 70s Jazzes for less than 2k... Quote
Maybe, maybe not... but not many that'll be as much help to oneself in one's dotage. :-) If we're going to talk about money, you could look at it as this... Spend a little less now and have a few more quid in your pocket, or spend a little more and most likely reap a shedload further on down the line. Whatever works best for ya, eh? Quote
