sk8
I'm still trying to get a sound that i like out of my MAG300 2x10 combo and wondered if other users would post their settings for me to play with. Thanks in advance
Machines
Exact same EQ as my EB-180. What sound are you after and what type of bass do you have ?
lowhand_mike
i'll remember best i can as my amp is at our rehersal place. i get a fairly nice zingy sound from mine and then tweek it around with the onboard eq on me bass. Input set about 3 0clock deep switch on, bright switch on eq on (obviously) bass about 3oclockish mid bass 2oclock mid half1 high mid half3 treble 3 (though i do change that one occasionally) subgen on dial at about 11-12 oclock and just change you output to suit my bass is quite zingy anyway and i like a brightish sound but this is also quite punchy and bassy without being muddy. with this setting the VU meter does dance quite a bit on mine but it doesn't distort. hope that helps. oh and try it without any of your pedals attached first, get your sound that way then start adding them in Edited October 24, 2007 by lowhand_mike

Machines
I generally set my EQ flat and work from there. For my basses it's usually: Stingray: Bass: 5 Low Mid: 7 Mid: 5 High Mid: 7 Treble: 5 (With bass/high boost switches enabled) Jazz: Bass: 5 Low Mid: 5 Mid: 6 High Mid: 7 Treble: 7 (With bass/high boost switches enabled)
jimbartlett
Machines...just to clarify....when you say, for example "Bass: 5", is that the 5 o'clock position or is it in relation to a scale of 1-10?
Machines
1-10.. if you managed to get 6 o' clock on your EQ you've broken it..
bassicinstinct
Start with everything flat at every gig/rehearsal/recording session. EQ enabled BUT I only use it to "EQ out" room-generated problem frequencies. Just my 2 pence worth.

sk8
had a chance to have a play on the weekend. The thing i noticed most the the settings posted on here were that Deep and Bright were on - i had not done this but by pushing these 2 buttons in the eq i had set came to life and i've now got a sound i like. Thanks for the help

Total opposite of what used to work well on my Markbass. Cheers
