thepurpleblob Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 (edited) The whole Jam back catalogue? Mind you, I've only heard of one song in your list which means I have no idea what sort of music you are into. Not what I'm into though Edited January 15, 2010 by thepurpleblob Quote
The Funk Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Cool list! Any power trio should chuck some Cream and Stevie Ray Vaughan in there. You should also try arranging other songs for the trio format. The main thing you need is songs with cool riffs! Quote
Sibob Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Why limit yourself to covering other 3 piece bands? My covers band is fundamentally three piece (3 instruments plus a vocalist) and we play lots of different stuff, just means you get to have a bit more fun with your various parts!.......not overplay, but cover some more sonic space! KevB Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 If you're all good players get stuck into some Rush, that'll keep you busy for a few sessions Quote
warwickhunt Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Don't think 3 piece! I play in a 3 piece and below is our set lists for tomorrow night. This isn't meant to be an indication of what you 'should/could' cover but if you look through I doubt you'd find much by any 3 piece band... Salisbury Hill & Boys of Summer are good fun as a 3 piece! Set 1 1 Use Somebody 2 Walk this Way 3 Violet Hill 4 Ain’t Talkin’ bout Love 5 The Story 6 Satellite 7 Sidewinder Sleeps 8 Salisbury Hill 9 Cryin’ Set2 1 Learn to Fly 2 No One Knows 3 Good Riddance 4 Livin’ on a Prayer 5 Jack & Dianne 6 Crazy 7 Valerie 8 Boys of Summer 9 Peaches 10 All These Things That I’ve Done 11 Sex on Fire 12 Crazy Train 13 She 'kin Hates Me Quote
Mog Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Anything off Alien Love Secrets by Vai is handy enough for a three piece lad. Juice is a fun song to jam out live. I'd agree with The Funk and say throw some SRV in there too. Quote
Marvin Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Song for a 3 piece, mmmmm. What about Sit Down by James. Quote
essexbasscat Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 for getting bass practice in a 3 piece, try the police back catalogue. It'l get the drummer going too T Quote
Paul S Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 If your are a bit rock inclined, there's practically everything I was weaned on - Hendrix, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Cream, Free, Budgie, UFO (earlier stuff when old goldilocks first joined them), ZZ Top, a squillion blues/rock artists up to and including Joe Bonamassa.
