OutToPlayJazz Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I went back to one of my private schools today for the first time since early December & a pupil had received an MIM Jazz for Xmas. The serial number puts it at a 2002 model, but I'd never seen the colour before - A more grey version of lake placid blue. After a bit of research I found out it was called Blue Agave. Anyone else had a bass in this colour? Quote
Pete Academy Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 In the pic it looks like a Mex Blue Agave to me. Quote
Pete Academy Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Maybe a Friday afternoon too-much-Tequila back from the pub happy accident? You never know. Quote
Paul S Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I own plenty of Mexican blue agaves but nothing with Fender on it. Quote
bubinga5 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Rich i had a Fender J5 in this color...i could be wrong but i think its the rare..ish, Inca Silver...looks just like the one i traded with a BC,er... Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 fairly common, a slow seller, like sage green. Inbetween lake placid and ice blue. A mega finish. Quote
waynepunkdude Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I used to have a MIM in that colour, I bought it in 2003, got skint sold it soon after. Quote
King Tut Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Yep - I used to have an MIM P in that colour. Was awesome! Quote
basshead56 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I won a mim strat in this finish off the radio last march. Can´t understand why this finish isn´t seen more often-it looks lovely under lights! I let our guitarist use it (she can´t be arsed to buy ANYTHING gear-wise lol) I´ve seen a few Precisions in this finish too. I like it anyway Quote
2x18 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I had a MIM telecaster in that colour a couple of years back. Quote
bh2 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 They had some great colours for MIMs around then... mine is a 2002 in Teal green metallic, looks blue and grey depending on the lighting... Quote

Cat Burrito Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I remember seeing these about at the time. I think the MIMs initially tried to up their game by offering funky colours. More recently the modifications have been to improve playability but I remember these being good fun Quote
bigjohn Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I've got a 2001 FSR "Gun Metal Blue" Precision for sale at the moment... It's very much like the teal, but a more blue, like a dark Lake Placid. Quote
bh2 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 That's nice bigjohn, if it plays anything like mine it's a killer. Would look great with some vintage mojo, covers, tugbar... Quote
Vibrating G String Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I've got one. It's in these pictures next to my Fernandes jazz which is the best Fender style bass I've ever owned. Quote
